20.0 SHAH NADER'S PERSIAN EMPIRE AND THE UNIFYING OF AFGHANISTAN
1736- Shah Nader Qoli Beg (famous General of Tahmasp; see previous): is elected to the Persian throne.
1738 Capture of Kandahar from the local Afghan Khans
1739 Capture of Ghazni and Kabul from the Indian Moghul Empire. Defeat of the Indian Mogols under Mohamed at Karnal and the capture of Northern India. Seizes the Peacock Throne and brings it to Iran.
1740 Captures Bukhara and Khwarezm (Khiva) Uzbekhistan. Largest extent of the Empire.
1747 Asassinated in Khabushan in 1747 by members of his own tribe.
